5. Someone Actually Mapped Springfield
Not only was Springfield never meant to have a definite location, but it wasn't meant to have a proper layout either. One episode the family live close to the power plant, the next theyre next to a graveyard. Episodes that directly use the towns design, such as A Tale Of Two Springfield that splits the town in two, only complicate things further.
But despite all the efforts made by the show to make things impossible to pin down, one plucky fan tried and succeeded to map the city. Its not perfect (and given the amount of contradictory information what do you expect), but that doesn't make it any less impressive.
