20. The Reason For Luke's Cap

Unless he’s dressing up for a formal occasion (which is rarely), you almost never see Luke Danes without his baseball cap. This is not a frivolous costume item but actually a subtle nod to the early life of Scott Patterson before his career as an actor.

Before appearing on the show, Patterson played in the minor leagues for the Yankees, Dodgers and Rangers. He was a 1st round pick (12th overall pick) by the Atlanta Braves in the January amateur secondary draft in 1980. His career as a professional pitcher last through till 1986 in which he won thirteen consecutive games as a starting pitcher between Class A Durham and Double-A Savannah. He moved on to acting in 1988 without ever playing at a major league level.
