20. The Characters Are Fans Of Robert Kirkman

Robert Kirkman, creator and writer of the original comic series, doesn't have any cameos in The Walking Dead, but his work outside of the series does.

When introduced to Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) in season one, he can be seen wearing a Science Dog t-shirt. Science Dog is a comic book hero from Kirkman's series, Invincible.

Later on, after the group arrive in Alexandria, he finds Enid (Katelyn Nacon) reading a comic book called Wolf Fight, which serves as both a reference to Kirkman's series The Astounding Wolf-Man and a nod to the coming threats of The Wolves.

These serve as nice nods to The Walking Dead creator and a sweet little reminder that Robert Kirkman exists in the show.
