Series Debut: 1999 Perhaps the tune with one of the most commonly misheard lines in modern television theme songs, Family Guy's theme is a big band opening with the Griffin family singing - well, some of them anyway. As for that misheard line, type "Family Guy laugh and cry" into Google and the first auto-complete result that comes up will include "effin' cry" - which is what many viewers often confuse the line for. It was so commonly misheard that the line is actually discussed on the show's DVD commentary, and re-recorded in the third season to make "laugh and cry" more audible. The actual lyrics are as follows: Lois: It seems today That all you see Is violence in movies and sex on TV Peter: But where are those good old fashioned values Entire Family: On which we used to rely? Lucky there's a Family Guy Lucky there's a man who Positively can do All the things that make us Stewie: Laugh and cry! Entire Family: He's... a.. Fam..ily... Guy! The Griffin family belting out the tune is clearly a nod to All in the Family, which we'll get to a bit later in the list.
