Jack Bauer returned to our screens this week after a four year absence in 24: Live Another Day, a continuation of the original show that depicts him on the run in London following the events of the eighth season, which ended with him as a fugitive from the United States government. Throughout the eight seasons, Kiefer Sutherland was almost the show's only constant, as the characters played by the vast-majority of his co-stars, both friendly and villainous, typically had a very short lifespan, usually meeting their end through either Bauer of the actions of whoever he happened to be squaring off against at any moment in time. This list reflects on 24 of the most memorable deaths from the many hundreds that were depicted across 192 episodes and a TV movie. The total bodycount will likely rise much higher over the course of the next few weeks, as new episodes are aired, but for now, these are the demises that live longest in the memory. Spoilers follow, obviously.
Honourable Mention - 'Morrison Hitman'
Played By - Brent Fletcher, Episode - Day 4: 1.00am-2.00am Chloe O'Brian is essentially the co-lead of 24, but her debut in season three was fairly low-key, as she merely provides elements of operational support to Jack Bauer and company. In season four, however, her role was expanded following the initial departure of all cast members bar her portrayer (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Kiefer Sutherland. Said season sees her step up a level from her established role as a desk jockey, as she comes under fire from a hitman sent to kill a witness she is retrieving data from. He succeeds in killing her two trained escorts, forcing her to take action and kill her attacker in what shines as one of her defining character moments. The assailant didn't even have a name, but given that he was Chloe's only kill during her six seasons (and counting) on the show, he deserves an honorary mention before this list begins.
