The Chicago Cubs did the unthinkable by defeating the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in 10 innings to win the World Series, marking the first time they'd won the title in 108 years, when they beat the Detroit Tigers 4-1 in 1908.

Naturally fans were rapturous, lining the streets in manic celebration, ecstatic that the team's apparent "curse" had finally been ended.
