What: An adaptation of Gerard Way's popular comic series, which takes place in an alt-history where JFK was never assassinated. It sees an estranged adopted family of superheroes come back together after their father's death in order to solve the mystery surrounding
Why: Part alt-universe, part superhero antics, part dysfunctional family, there's a lot going on in Way's comic to make it stand apart from the other comic book offerings on TV at the moment. It's visually quite distinct, which should lend itself to the series as well, and packed with enough action, humour, and drama to fill the 10-episode first season order. The cast is impressive, and the first trailer nailed the tone.
