7. What We Do In The Shadows

Who: Jermaine Clement (writer); Taika Waititi (director); Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry

What: A TV adaptation of Waititi's 2014 mockumentary of the same name. Taking the action to New York, it follows three vampires who've been roommates for hundreds of years.

Why: The original What We Do In The Shadows is what really established Waititi as a supremely gifted and distinct voice in cinema. It's a superb example of the mockumentary form, and puts a hilarious spin on the vampire mythos too. With both he and Clement on-board to contribute to this, and a talented cast, the half-hour comedy series should be just as great.
