3. The Twilight Zone
Who: Jordan Peele (host/narrator)
What: As the name suggests, it's a reboot of Rod Serling's seminal anthology series, putting a more modern spin (and budget) on tales of the space between fears and knowledge, and attempting to provide both.
Why: While we've already seen one modern anthology show that riffs heavily on The Twilight Zone (hi, Black Mirror), there's definitely room for more of the real thing. Peele's a proven horror talent, and it sounds like a talented creative team has been assembled, overseen by director Greg Yaitanes (who recently directed one of the best TV episodes of 2018). They've got some great guest stars lined-up too, including Steven Yeun, Jacob Tremblay, Adam Scott, Kumail Nanjiani, Sanaa Lathan, and Allison Tomlin. Mostly, though, it's the chance of it capturing the spirit, tone, and terror of the original for a new generation that's particularly exciting.
