Despite being enemies in the future, this move from Wells only goes to further cement the twisted father/son dynamic that existed between these two characters. Regardless of whether he hated him in the future, Eobard Thawne grew mighty fond of Barry Allen after spending so long at his side in the present, aiding him and grooming him into the hero that he needed to become.
