3 Reasons For And Against John Oliver Getting A Daily Show Spin-Off

2. For: Fun

The part of Oliver€™s hosting of The Daily Show that I€™ve enjoyed the most is the great amount of fun that he is clearly having in his new temporary job. While Stewart also has fun when he hosts, he tends to become a little cynical about American politics, which works for him. Oliver is able to come across as a sort of outsider looking into the America in which the rest of us reside. This is despite the fact that he has been in the States for quite a while, and that he has been on the show for 7 years now. It€™s impressive to see how he is able to poke fun at American politics while, seemingly, enjoying the fact that he is, literally, making fun of us. He doesn€™t get angry, as Stewart does from time to time in his own comedic way. Instead, he approaches American news in a baffled and bemused manner, and it is really enjoyable to watch.
