22. The Terror

AMC's big new genre offering, The Terror is an adaptation of Dan Simmons' best-selling novel, which gives a fictionalised account of Captain Sir John Franklin's expedition to the Arctic in the 1840s.

The seafaring adventure, however, turns into a desperate fight for survival when the crew is stalked by a monster while having to contend with the dangerous elements too. Naturally, they turn on each other, which adds mutiny and even cannibalism to the mix.

Leading this motley crew is Game of Thrones' Ciaran Hinds, with fellow Thrones actor Tobias Menzies and Mad Men's Jared Harris along for the journey.
