Im sorry but 7 / 8+ songs per episode is ridiculous. More often than not, now, it seems theyre singing non-stop! Its hard to believe that some episodes in Season One only had three, four songs. There is no need for pointless, filler, Top-40 songs in every episode. I dont want to here Bruno Mars and Pink all the time, unless one of their songs actually fits into the storyline. But seriously, why do we want to hear songs that are already in the charts? Part of Glees original charm was that it took old, forgotten songs and revitalised them. Remember Journey? The Top-40 covers are usually the worst and dont suit a show choir arrangement. I agree with what Will said to Jacob Ben Israel in the Season Two premiere: 25% Showtunes, 25% Hip Hop, 25% Classic Rock and I suppose that last 25% (that Jacob never let Will reveal) would be Pop / Top-40.
