Pete Holmes first got on the television scene by doing a Comedy Central Presents special as well as doing stand up spots on Conan's show. Conan allowed Pete to film three pilot test episodes on his set before being officially picked up by TBS. Conan stopped by as a celebrity guest interview during the shows first 28 episode run to "check up on things". The two could be seen as pals in real life as they riffed off of each other quite nicely. Conan of course jokingly threatened to fire Pete and have a new talk show host at the snap of a finger.
