5 Reasons We Should All Be Excited About Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

5. The Cast

Star Trek: Discovery left its first season feeling rather lacklustre, and there was some question of where do we go from here? Season two gave an answer, warping in a damaged USS Enterprise, and giving Discovery new latest captain, Christopher Pike played by Anson Mount. It is safe to say fans took to his performance with enthusiasm and support, as he adapted Jeffrey Hunter and Bruce Greenwood’s performances into something entirely new.

Joining him, Ethan Peck’s Spock and Rebecca Romijn’s Number One gave classic and much-loved characters a new lease of life. Their chemistry was undeniable, and through them a whole new generation of Trekkies can experience the characters as their parents and grandparents had done before.

Star Trek has always been at its best when it has the right crew, and it is safe to say that these three will excel in leading this show. Over time we can expect to see the inclusion of Bones, Scotty, and Uhura. Until we do however, we can at least be assured that Strange New Worlds has a tried and tested cast who the fans can trust.
