The Big Bang Theory ended up focusing too much on relationships in their later seasons. The IT Crowd, does not. This helps everything flow more freely without the hassle of Roy and Moss trying to get the attention of Jen and to take her on a date. The only hint of relationships we get is when Jen unsucessfully attempts to get herself a date, which often ends up disasteriously. Or when Roy gets a girlfriend and that relationship lasts for all of one episode. Then there is the infamous episode when Jen decides to host a dinner party to impress her latest flame. There is also the fact that we all know all computer nerds have no interest in girls- unless of course they are Lara Croft.
