I get that that we're dealing with a serious drama here and not a comedy special but earlier on in its run The Walking Dead showed that it didn't all have to be doom and gloom, so why shouldn't there be a laugh or two now? Other great drama series like The Sopranos have shown that you can have plenty of laughs without getting silly; indeed, it's this roller-coaster between peaks of intensely morally-reprehensible actions and troughs of lighthearted banter which made The Sopranos a classic. There's no reason why The Walking Dead shouldn't have a little bit of humour. However, in recent times the laughs have become few and far between with once-comical characters no longer making us chuckle. Glenn, who used to be extremely (unintentionally) funny is now constantly gloomy, despite being loved-up. Carol, who had a biting dry wit, got unceremoniously dumped on the road side (though I read we may be seeing her again real soon). Milton, whose nerdy charm got many a laugh out of me, now lies stabbed to death by Andrea's pliers in some deserted room in Woodbury.
