7 Cancelled TV Shows That Deserve A Kickstarter Project

6. Bored To Death (2009)

One of the most enjoyable programs to ever grace the Sunday night lineup on HBO was cut short last year when it failed to gain a renewal from the network. Bored to Death was created by and based on the life of Jonathan Ames. Bored to Death had a unique premise and was different from anything else that was on television at the time. Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore, Moonrise Kingdom) plays Ames, a novelist who struggles with writers block working on his second novel. To try and get some inspiration, he decides to moonlight as a private investigator. He puts an ad on Craig€™s List and starts to take cases from people all over New York. The show never received the amount of viewers HBO thought it would especially with such an all-star cast involved. They cancelled it after only two seasons and left the show on a very strange and unfinished finale. Bored to Death could make for a very cheap and worthwhile investment for Netflix to pick up. If the salaries of the entire cast were too extravagant, a Kickstarter project for a movie to act as an ending of the series would be a great gift to fans of a show that was taken off the air too soon.
