The Flash (AKA Barry Allen, the fastest man alive) spends a lot of time getting beaten up. The CW's resident heartthrob speedster used most of Season 1 learning to develop his powers, and he often found himself (temporarily) bettered by opponents. Sure, super-speed is one of the most unbeatable of the hero-skills but, hey, haven't you ever had teething problems in a new job? We're into the second season now and while the Flash is getting stronger and stronger, his enemies look set to get even more impressive. And that's really saying something. After all, this is a show in which our hero regularly does battle with (or teams up with) Captain Cold, the sneeriest, most splendidly scene-chewing character currently on television (never change, Wentworth Miller). It's also a show in which he was literally mentored by Reverse-Flash, his time-travelling, mother-murdering enemy, who spent most of the first season posing as scientist Harrison Wells. And he's now being pursued by a speedster from an alternate reality with a seemingly endless supply of canon-fodder supervillains. He's keeping himself busy, is what we're saying. But between the major threats and the wormholes and the clever nemeses, the Flash also finds himself up against some truly spectacularly weird villains. Let's take a dive into some of his most fun opponents so far.
