7 Reasons Why Entourage Needs To Return

It's been nearly ten years since we last saw the boys on the small screen - where would they be now?

Next year will mark ten years since Entourage the sitcom came to an end, and although we got a peek of what the boys have been up to since then, courtesy of a feature film in 2015, if anything it has left us with more questions than answers.

Entourage - if you’re not already familiar - followed the exploits of emerging superstar actor Vincent Chase and his close circle of friends as they navigate the pitfalls of celebrity and stardom.

The somewhat fictionalised depiction of Hollywood life meant the show could get away with some tongue-in-cheek references to real life people and incidents, which is part of the reason why the show proved so popular and loved by viewers.

However, since the show ended almost a decade ago, the landscape and culture of Tinsel Town has dramatically changed. With that in mind, it would be interesting to see how our favourite characters would have adapted to a post-Me Too, and altogether more progressive society.

This recent shift in perceptions of Hollywood, and the subsequent spotlight that has fallen onto celebrities, makes the daily lives of its A-lister inhabitants even more relevant today than ever.

7. Vince The Director?

Vince’s apathetic outlook on acting and celebrity culture is what makes him so endearing to viewers, and also helps the character become a little more relatable.

He’s rarely enthusiastic about any big-money scripts that Ari wants to tie him to, and would rather pursue his passion projects and indie films. He only agrees to Aquaman in the promise that he can later do the films he wants to.

Vince makes comments throughout the show’s run that he could happily quit Hollywood and move back to Queens. In the film he has grand ideas to direct, which could mean a change in focus on what he really wants to do.

His directorial debut Hyde was a monster global blockbuster so surely he has been directing other films since that. With his brother grabbing a Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe, Vince could have hung up his acting gloves to focus solely on directing. Or was his debut simply a fluke and has he become a box-office bomb in the years that have followed?

Entourage the TV series ended with many questions left unanswered, and although the feature film went some way in tying up some loose ends, there are still plenty of storylines left open than could easily mean a welcome return for the show to the TV screen.
