8 Bizarre Conspiracy Theories About Famous TV Shows

8. The Flintstones Is Post-Apocalyptic

When you think of the hit animated television show The Flintstones, one of the first things you probably think about is domesticated dinosaurs. That's because the show is set during the Stone Age, with one of its most popular aspects being the juxtaposition between modern day-to-day trivialities and its vastly archaic setting.

But what if I told you the show wasn't set during the Stone Age at all, but is actually set some time deep in the future? According to some theorists, that's exactly the case. In fact, The Flintstones actually takes place during the same time as The Jetsons, which depicts a futuristic utopia.

The theory goes on to point out that in the show, modern technology exists and is understood €“ for example, vinyl records are played using bird beaks, and Barney uses a crab to fashion a crude lawnmower. This is because the world of The Flintstones takes place after some sort of post-apocalyptic disaster, forcing the world to essentially €œstart over€, using animals as replacements for modern technology.

As for The Jetsons? Well, they're the lucky (read: rich) members of society who live in a futuristic city above, who managed to navigate or escape (possibly even perpetrate?) such a terrible disaster.
