Twin Peaks is still very much in the public's consciousness more than 20 years on. The gold edition DVD box sets have sold well and it's one of the most popular shows on Netflix, attracting new fans and those seeking a bit of nostalgia in equal measure. Twin Peaks still receives homages on TV now. From Walter Bishop wearing the two-coloured lens glasses of his friend Doctor Jacoby in season four of Fringe to the full on homage in season five of Psych. Not only did the episode play homage Twin Peaks with the setting 'Dual Spires' and the murder of Paula Merral discovered by a lake, it featured a whole whole of cast members from the original show; Ray Wise, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Dana Ashbrook and Catherine E. Coulson as the 'Wood Woman'. A whole 20 years after Twin Peaks was aired, any homage to Twin Peaks is still big news. There are many fans dying to get more of their favourite show in whatever form they can get. Were Twin Peaks to return, it certainly wouldn't be one of those sequels / resurrections that have us asking why - Twin Peaks on our screens today would be more popular than ever.
