8 Reasons The Walking Dead Has Lost Its Way This Season

3. Forgettable Characters

Lets be honest: with Glenn departed, we're quickly running out of characters we give a damn about on The Walking Dead.

You have Rick, depending on which Rick you get. Carol, though her new, watered down, "I don't want contact with anyone" persona has quickly become grating. Daryl, but the surviving Dixon brother has spent half the season in a box. Carl, maybe, depending on whether you like that he has become a bit more threatening (read: killing off two of Negan's men).

Enid could have been something, a more bad-ass Beth, but they wasted her. Ezekiel isn't utilized, and Jesus, who has shown promise, managed to sneak into the Savior's camp... and do absolutely nothing other than meet Daryl and leave.

Such promise. Such wasted talent.

Then you have the rest. Olivia, Spencer, Tobin, Arat - if Spencer had not been gutted he could have blended in with the drapes this year. Meanwhile, characters of old like Sasha and Aaron, who once held promise, barely register.

Not a good sign.
