8 Reasons You Should Be Watching Netflix's Sense8
8. A Diverse Cast
How many shows can boast a cast this diverse? There is Sun Bak in Seoul, Capheus in Nairobi, Wolfgang in Berlin, Will in Chicago, Lito in Mexico City, Nomi in San Francisco, Riley in England, and Kala in Mumbai. The show feels all inclusive to any audience because they throw a wide net and give us a slice of life from all over the world.
You would be hard-pressed to find a television show that is more internationally friendly. There has been a clear effort made to portray as many types of lifestyles as possible. There are criminals and cops, rich and poor, gay, straight and those in-between.
In showing us all these different people, they are actually showing how many similarities exist between everyone in every country. All of the characters are looking for a connection and a way to become a better version of themselves: a universal drive we can all relate to.
The Wachowskis are giving us a story about relationships but they are using the diverse cast and worldwide settings to tell it with a broad scope.
