9. What Next For Kevin’s Band?

Kevin seemed to make some improvements towards the very end of the season, but is, in his own words, still ‘a dildo’. He wants to connect with his family again, so it seems, and his new found summer school friends are a better influence than they first seemed.

However, Throbinson Crusoe are kicking on without his elfish shire influences, and things are only going to get better for them. If his band takes off without him, where will that leave him?

Kevin is not a terrible musician and definitely isn’t a poser; he makes the type of music he likes, even if no one else likes it. But he’s desperate to be famous and likely isn’t going to get a hit single with his experimental hour-long songs. Seeing his former bandmates bypass him so quickly is going to be hard to take.

Will season 4 see Kevin change his style, or return to music for the pure fun of it? Maybe he’ll give up music altogether, but whether that’ll lead to a positive new direction or an aimless depression for the character remains to be seen.
