9. Gillian Anderson Is The Real Believer In The X-Files

Another larger than life entry into the television canon, the X-Files spans an enormous 11 seasons, and comes with its far shares of truths out there to be discovered. The ongoing investigations of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully into all things extraterrestrial saw one the former as a believer and the latter as a scientific realist, but in reality, these roles were definitively reversed.

David Duchovy said himself in an interview with RadioTimes: "There were stories that people would tell me about being abducted. They would just make me sad. I thought that these people had issues that they had to deal with." He followed up with "So the answer is: no and never!” as his quick retort of being a believer in aliens or not.

Gillian Anderson, on the other hand, is far more open to the idea, in a total opposite to her character in the show. She's stated numerous times that she does believe in aliens, questioned relentlessly over the years for her closeness to the subject.
