Best known for his role as Hellboy, Ron Perlman will be trading sides as a man who receives visions from the Lord in this new Amazon series. He'll be playing Pernell Harris, a powerful, morally-corrupt judge who despite being married has regular visits with a call-girl. His son shoots himself in the head after being forced to watch his wife being raped, and this is the catalyst for a total breakdown for Harris, who starts to believe that he is receiving visions and messages from God. This compels him to become a vigilante, hunting down the man who raped his daughter-in-law. Just a couple of years after Sons of Anarchy finished, Perlman is looking for another TV hit, and may have just found it with Hand of God. He's already been singing the praises of Amazon, because of the originality it allows, and referred to his relationship with the studio as a "love affair." It certainly sounds like an intriguing show, and one that won't be compromising on violence, sex, darkness, and mystery.
