8. Nick Fury

While Nick Fury turned up in Age of Ultron and the post-credits scene of Infinity War, Coulson and the team haven't seen him since his appearance in the first season finale. In all these years, the team's lives and the structure of S.H.I.E.L.D. have gone through major changes, and with season six set in a post-Avengers 4 world, Nick should finally have the chance to check in with Coulson - or the team, at least - on screen again.

We'll be seeing the two together in the '90s-set Captain Marvel next March, and having him resurface in another season - particularly if it ends up being the last one - would be a nice way to bring things full circle, both in terms of seeing how their relationship has evolved from working together in the '90s, to what it has become in the present day.

Essentially, it book-ends the series as Fury was ultimately responsible for kicking off by bringing Coulson back to life.
