Agents Of SHIELD: 8 Mistakes It Needs To Fix In Season 3

Season 2 was a big step-up, but it still needs to raise its game.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. made some major strides forward in its second season, building on the momentum garnered by the connection to The Winter Soldier in the latter stages of season 1. It finally started to feel like a show that was worthy of watching outside of it simply having the name Marvel attached to it, telling some bigger and bolder stories and generally taking more chances as it broke free of the MCU shackles. The characters really developed into ones you liked, especially Skye - who they pushed in season 1, but with less success - and Fitz, who proved he could exist as a character without Simmons (although they're still at their best when together). However, despite these improvements, the show is far from perfect, which has only been further highlighted by more superior Marvel shows Agent Carter and Daredevil. There were moments in season 2 were it felt like it started to sag, weighed down by trying to carry too much, and a few things that if done differently could have made it a truly excellent show. It's good, but not yet at the stage of being 'must watch' TV in the way its Netflix counterpart is. There's no reason it can't reach that level though, and a good start would be fixing of few of these mistakes from season 2 as it heads into its third season.
