Another 20 Nostaglic TV Theme Tunes We Just Can’t Let Go

3. Charles In Charge (1984)

In today's modern world it might seem a bit unusual to create a show about a 19 year old student who worked as an au pair for rich, protective, parents while said au pair was also very interested in getting laid €“ so much so that he often disregarded the needs of the children in favour of the needs of getting the highschool sweethearts to come and help him with his homework. But then it was the 80's and you're talking about Scott Baio, a man who literally did whatever he wanted and got away with it.The impact of 'Charles in Charge' have reached some quite weird places (Peter Griffin asking for a Charles in Charge lunchbox for Christmas, we're still waiting!) and this is testament to the kind of pull it had on American audiences. In the UK, however, it went virtually unnoticed and represented something which looked rather elitest and outdated. Probably the reason a family like the Cosbies did so well - representing just more than privledge. But despite being a TV critic I'm not here to slam the show, just to celebrate it's theme. And it had a great theme.
