Archer: 10 Things To Expect From Season 6

Are you ready to head back into...the Danger Zooooone?

By Tom Baker /

Get ready to head back into...the Danger Zone! Now with a successfully funded acoustic living room performance from Kenny Loggins! One of the most consistently hilarious and unpredictable comedies on television returns in the new year with its sixth season, and the next go around of Archer's sex-crazed spy shenanigans looks to be a return to form after a fifth batch of episodes which saw the espionage agency branching out to, erm, head to Miami and become drug dealers ala whatever that eighties TV show was called, rebranding the show Archer Vice. After the climactic end to that left turn everything looks to be getting back to normal...or, well, as normal as a show that has a strange obsession with ocelots and a perverted Hitler clone amongst its supporting cast can get. Archer's sixth season premiers on FX January 8th next year, but if that's a little too long to wait to get your next fix of lunatic, pop-culture referencing, in-joke heavy animated madness? Well, there's always speculation. Archer has built up a dense universe of characters, catchphrases, relationships and anime holograms over the first five seasons, all of which are in the mix when the show returns to familiar ground in the sixth season. Co-creator Matt Thompson has spilled the beans on some info about the upcoming episodes, and then there's just the stuff everybody wants to happen. A return to spycraft, the reheating of the Cold War and more nods to Bartleby The Scrivener are amongst the ten things to expect from season six of Archer.
