Arrow Season 4: 16 WTF Moments From 'AWOL'

Felicity gets a codename and Amanda Waller bites the bullet!

By Andrew Pollard /

Following last week€™s diagnosis that Felicity Smoak will never walk again, this week€™s AWOL outing had some serious ramifications for certain other Arrow characters. With the rise of a new criminal organisation intent on infiltrating ARGUS, it becomes make or break time for the relationship between brothers Andy and John Diggle. It€™s also a moment of truth for Felicity, who ends up being revisited by the ghost of Smoak past as she struggles with the confines of her wheelchair and how that affects her role in Team Arrow. And even cooler, she finally gets her own codename! That€™s pretty much it in terms of rough plot details for this latest episode, but what AWOL had in abundance was plenty of kick-ass action throughout, with the action even eventually resulting in the death of a fan favourite of many. In amongst the fists, as ever, were a whole myriad of WTF moments as Arrow shocked, surprised and even gave you a few knowing winks as the episode played out. So, with that said, let€™s take a look at the best of those moments...

16. Any Chance Of Some Leeway?

With Felicity Smoak out of action €“ y€™know, because she suffered extreme nerve damage that has left her confined to a wheelchair €“ it felt just a tad d*ckish of Thea Queen to drop in a little dig about how Team Arrow could really use Felicity€™s help early on in AWOL. Sure, Felicity is the brains and tech whizz behind the operation, but come on, man, give the girl some leeway. She€™s just been left crippled, contemplating the rest of her days stuck on two wheels, and is maybe deserving of just a little TLC. Not for Thea, though, who clearly thinks that they should be putting added pressure on Felicity straight away by getting her back in the game.
