Considering how Donna Smoak has usually been presented as an excitable airhead throughout the majority of her Arrow screen time to date, it was a WTF moment to see Mama Smoak switch off the easygoing bimbo act and switch over to being a stern, no-nonsense type. When Quentin Lance suggests easing things off between himself and Donna, unbeknownst to her in order for Lance to keep her out of danger, Mama Smoak has a change of attitude and promptly calls Quentin out on his obvious B.S., instead instigating a complete calling off of their relationship. It was a ballsy move from Donna and one that added a nice new layer to the character.
