Arrow Season 5 Finale: 8 Big Questions We Need Answers To

2. Will Talia Be Set Up As Season 6's Main Antagonist?

Although Talia al Ghul holds more name-recognition than many of Arrow's cast of characters, she's been largely underused overall in comparison to some of the other big-name comic book personalities (Deathstroke, Amanda Waller, etc.). Her involvement with Chase indicates that she's a major reason why he's been so successful at one-upping Oliver all season. Not only that, but she's the one who taught Chase how to fight, how to get into Oliver's head, and how to stir up plenty of trouble. She's the brains behind this operation, and her role in the show probably won't be ending this season.

It may seem like she's destined to go down in the finale, her lack of screen time this season would say otherwise. The character is too well-known to be just used and forgotten quickly in an effort to tie up as many loose ends as possible. Besides, she's more than capable of taking on that primary antagonistic role thanks to her combat effectiveness and her mental strength passed down from her (previously) immortal father.

She could likely handle the role, but it remains to be seen if the showrunners want to find villains that don't have "al Ghul" anywhere in their name, or if they still believe there is still plenty of substance to Talia's character that needs to be explored.
