Last week's emotional episode of Arrow saw multiple characters confronted by demons from their own respective pasts - demons that were preventing them from moving forward. On reflection, this is actually quite ironic, as the past would also go on to play a pretty major role in this week's instalment, the show's 150th episode: 'Emerald Archer'.

Employing a unique documentary-like approach, the episode took a look back at the impact that vigilantes have had on Star City over the course of the show's near-seven year run - a story move that ultimately served as the perfect backdrop for the rise of new vigilante hunter Chimera. Furthermore, it also saw the continuation of some of the season's underlying storylines and even gave us an expected, albeit brief, sneak peek of Star City's grim future.

All in all, 'Emerald Archer' was, in many ways, a love letter to everything that has made Arrow the success that it is today while remaining firmly grounded in the show's current storylines, and the result was near-perfection.

First, the positives.
