One of the focal points of Arrow's seventh season has been the introduction of a second Green Arrow who, in Oliver Queen's absence, began striking fear into the hearts of any criminals that threatened the peace in Star City. The assailant turned out to be none other than Oliver's secret sister, Emiko Queen - proving that vigilantism really does seem to run in the family. However, things took a darker turn when it was revealed that she was working with the villainous Dante and was seemingly responsible for the death of Ricardo Diaz.

After taking a break from the season's main narrative in last week's all flash-forward episode, 'Inheritance' returned us to the present and continued the mystery surrounding Emiko's motivations. As Laurel was the one who initially discovered her questionable behaviour, she too played a major role in the episode as Oliver found himself faced with the reality that his beloved sister may not be who she was claiming to be.

All in all, 'Inheritance' gave the spotlight to two of the show's more underappreciated characters, taking their arcs in surprising (and perhaps frustrating) directions.

First, the positives.
