Ballers Season 2: 5 Ups & 4 Downs

3. Female Characters Are Still Lacking

A major criticism of Ballers' first season that's sadly carried through to the second is that there's a pronounced lack of strong or interesting female characters.

The majority of the women on the show are strippers or scantily clad models, and the only two prominent female characters are sports reporter Tracy (Arielle Kebbel) and Charles' wife Julie (Jazmyn Simon).

Unfortunately, neither of them have particularly interesting arcs this season: Tracy haggles for fair pay and then disappears off to a new job out of town, while Julie becomes a mother and plays cheerleader to Charles.

This is a problem season three could easily fix, were it so inclined.
