Better Call Saul tells the story of the lawyer before we meet him in Breaking Bad, so it was surprising - but also really fun - when the first episode opened in black and white, showing him working at a Cinnabon in Omaha, going by the name of Gene. This was not what came before, but after, as he relocated there at the end of the series. Although the bulk of the story since has indeed centred on pre-BB Saul, we will still get to see more of his life post-Walter White and co in Season 2 of Better Call Saul. The Season 2 premiere, Switch, will open with a similar black and white scene before cutting back to Slippin' Jimmy, while Gilligan has also teased at exploring more of the multiple timelines, saying:
"Weve got a lot of territory to mine. Do we play scenes that are concurrent with things that occurred on Breaking Bad, with that timeline? Or do we jump ahead to what happens, whats going on, in Omaha, Nebraska?"
