Hank Schrader was a great character, perfectly embodied by Dean Norris. Still, he had many repugnant traits. Not only did his behaviour towards Walter often feel patronising, but his emotional tailspin following his injury at the hands of The Cousins was ridiculously unpleasant to watch. And you know that this is really saying something as the main victim of his abuse during his period of recuperation was his wife Marie. It takes some pretty abrasive behaviour to make you actually feel sympathy for Betsy Brandt's irritating character. However, Norris's Hank accomplishes this during his recovery period in Season 3-4.
