Breaking Bad: 5 Alternate Scenes We're Glad We Didn't Get To See

By Joseph Dempsey /

On Monday this week, AMC's hit crime drama Breaking Bad reached its conclusion. After five seasons, 62 episodes and more meth cooks than we can remember, the Vince Gilligan-created show finally ended, leaving us all with a vast expanse of nothingness in our television schedules. The conclusion to the show revealed the fate of Walter White and Jesse, and while there was, at times, a strong feeling of inevitability about the whole thing, each character's story-arch concluded in a befitting manner. As with any TV show, the writer's of Breaking Bad laboured and toiled over the scripts, pitching several ideas and scrapping a lot of them at various intervals. Recently, Gilligan himself revealed that he and his team toyed with alternate endings for the show before arriving at the one we all saw earlier this week. According to Gilligan, the show's writing staff considered about a "thousand different alternate versions" of Walt's journey throughout Albuquerque, and that very little was set in stone up until the final few weeks. Some of the alternate endings and scenes discussed were intriguing and would have made for great viewing, while others would have ruined the whole complex of the show. And here, we take a look at 5 Alternate Scenes We're Glad We Didn't Get To See. Please note the following pages contain spoilers.
