Brooklyn Nine-Nine: 10 TV Characters Who Would Make A Great Assistant To Captain Holt

10. Murray Hewitt

If you're going to try and make it in New York City as a musician, you had better have one hell of a manager. There are a lot of bands attempting the same impossible feat you are, and many of them are better musicians.

As Flight of the Conchords, Bret and Jermaine had the talent and they had the songwriting ability. They just needed someone who could represent them, who could get them in the right venues and their music in front of the right people. What they needed was a manager who could be their voice.

Unfortunately, Bret and Jermaine ended up with Murray Hewitt. A Deputy Cultural Attaché at the New Zealand Consulate in New York, Murray somehow ended up being the band's manager. Describing him as ineffectual is an insult to the word. Murray was useless and inept on a level not seen in modern history.

Would he be a good assistant to Captain Holt? Probably not, but it would make things interesting around the 99. For what it's worth, Murray also would have made the perfect replacement for Michael on The Office, too.
