Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Season Finale Ranked Worst To Best

7. Crime & Punishment (Season Four)

Seeing this finale to the tension-filled fourth season at the lowest position here is a testament to the amount of quality coming soon, as this outing can't be considered bad by any stretch of the imagination. It's a solid episode with a great mission, some fun moments and an overall sense of dread. But, there are a few setbacks that pull it down.

After being framed for bank robbery by the dirty cop Melanie Hawkins (one of the show's best villains), Rosa and Jake battle in the courtroom to defend their names. In order to save them, Amy ventures off to find the last witness who can testify against Hawkins and keep the Nine-Nine family together.

The central selling point for this episode was how high the stakes were. We were used to seeing the squad fight some tough battles, but failure here would result in Jake and Rosa going to jail, which kept the outing exciting.

Sadly, while the stakes and final twist were huge, the rest of the episode was a simple McGuffin plot, with multiple characters searching for things and doing little else. This would have worked fine for a mid-season outing, but as a season finale, it was bland.
