Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One

10. Caleb

The last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer divides opinion. Some fans see it as a fitting end to a brilliant show, while others complain about the tedious nature of the Potential Slayer storyline.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. But even those who are sceptical about the final season can't deny how great Caleb is. This terrifying villain crops up in the eighteenth episode, and as the physical embodiment of the First Evil, he's one of the most formidable characters in the show.

He's so powerful that he has no trouble taking on the gang when they attack the vineyard. As well as murdering several Potential Slayers, he also crushes Xander's left eye. Only with the help of the Scythe does Buffy manage to bring him down in the final episode.

But it's Caleb's dialogue and demeanour that makes him truly terrifying. Nathan Fillion nails his performance, and you never doubt you're watching a psychopathic priest relishing in the slaughter of his victims.

It's just a shame he's only featured in five episodes.
