20 TV Shows That Were Cancelled In 2025

13. Goosebumps

R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series of kids' horror novels is beloved by several generations, and so a reboot series should've been something that Disney simply couldn't screw up.

Some fans did nevertheless take umbrage with Disney deciding to ditch the standalone anthology format of the original TV show, instead telling a serialised, season-long story which incorporated many of Stine's most iconic tales.

All the same, season one posted solid viewing figures on Disney+ by shrewdly releasing around Halloween 2023, but the second season was rather unceremoniously dumped with little fanfare in January 2025, where it unsurprisingly debuted to significantly lower viewership than the first.

As a result, it was hardly a huge shock when Disney announced in August that Goosebumps had been cancelled.

Though series producer Sony Pictures Television did announce their intent to shop the series around and consider other potential Goosebumps TV content, the lack of movement so far suggests that this iteration of the franchise is dead.

Given the enduring popularity of the Goosebumps IP regardless, though, it probably won't lie dormant for too long.
