2. It's Got A Sharp Feminist Edge
There are sure to be countless "think pieces" in the coming days and weeks about how Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a spirited revision of the character for the #MeToo era, and whether you feel that's a reach or not, the show's satirically feminist bite is undeniable.
Throughout the series, Sabrina is forced to confront rampant misogyny at school, not to mention Father Blackwood's attempts to force her into signing a Faustian pact against her consent.
Constant references are made to smashing the patriarchy and the evil that men do, and that the show delivers this without feeling like a rote, overbaked man-hating exercise is certainly impressive.
It's easy to imagine teenage girls in particular connecting strongly with the show's empowering themes, wrapped in a decidedly silly supernatural gloss as they are.
