10. Talking About Fighting

While this is technically two Troy moments, both occur within the same episode and are both hilarious.

In the episode Comparative Religion, Jeff gets into a fight with a guy called Mike who harassed Abed. In this scene it is revealed that Jeff has never been in a fight.

This is where the first Troy moment comes in. While recounting his fighting experience Troy says:

"I remember the first time I ever got punched in the face. At first, I was like OH No, but then I was like, this is a story."

He says this with a knowing smile but never elaborates, leaving that experience as the entire story. It's a small moment but sums up some of the inherent lovable simplicity of Troy's character.

There is a similar simplicity to the second moment, which comes when they're training Jeff for the fight and Shirley walks in. Troy, trying to hide what they were doing says:

"We were trying to get Jeff ready for the fiiiiiiiiiight".

Troy draws out the last word as he can't think of anything else to say to hide it. Troy is a simple character, and a lot fo the moments of his humour come from this simplicity. Both of these moments show that well and inject good laughs into the episode.
