Cory Monteith RIP: Finn's 10 Greatest Glee Songs

By Hayley May Phillips /

On Saturday, Cory Monteith sadly died in his hotel room in Canada, aged just 31. Although he had a wide career, Monteith was best known for playing the lead role of loveable jock, Finn Hudson, in hit TV show, Glee. Glee is an all-singing, all-dancing show that focusses on the musical and personal dilemmas of a school€™s glee club, as they try and gain popularity and win competitions. Monteith was in almost every episode of the show, from the very beginning of the first series until the series four episode €˜Sweet Dreams€™, a rather fitting name for his last episode. This list will pay tribute to both Cory Monteith, a talented actor, singer and musician and his character on the show that found his rise to fame.

10. Jessie€™s Girl

Finn is the brave character in the show; he stands up for his beliefs and he does what he thinks is best. This song is yet another example of his bravery, except it€™s in a slightly different way. When he realises that Rachel still has feelings for Jesse, he sings her this song in a bid to prove his feelings to her. Originally, the song was going to feature backing vocals by Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes, but many Glee fans will agree that it€™s nice that they ran out of time to put them in €“ the song shows a tender, personal moment for Finn and any other vocals than his own would have detracted from that.
