As facts of teenage life go, rebellion is up there with embarrassing autonomic functions and pimples. It usually takes the form of ill-advised fashion choices, underage drinking, general moodiness, and the likes. In the case of Runaways, though, that rebellion is a little more extreme, if understandable. After finding out their parents are part of a evil cabal made up of time travelers, alien invaders, arms dealers, and the like, Nico, Karolina, Molly, Chase, Alex, and Gertrude go on the run as well you might if you came across mum and dad performing a human sacrifice. In doing so, they begin to discover their own extraordinary abilities. Teenage angst, very grown-up betrayal, and a telepathic dinosaur called Old Lace suggest that Runaways could bring something new to the MCU. Late last year Kevin Feige said that, while a possible film adaptation had been shelved, the property might yet find a home on the small screen. All we can say is why not now(ish)?
