The love interest of the previously mentioned Luke Cage will also be getting her own Netflix original series, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, premiering later this year. Krysten Ritter stars as the titular character - a former superhero who packs up her costume in favor of becoming a private detective - an interesting choice considering outside of her acclaimed stint on Breaking Bad she's mostly been known for her comedic work. A.K.A. Jessica Jones is the next show to debut on Marvel's slate, and the character will be an integral part of The Defenders as well. We've already seen set photos of she and Luke Cage, as well as shots of David Tennant, who's playing the series' main villain, Kilgrave - better known in the comics as The Purple Man. It's entirely possible that Murdock may appear on her show before she ever cameos on his, and would be a great way to help establish the relationship between the characters prior to their much-anticipated team up.
