Matt Murdock sits with his mask in his hands, contemplating his way of doing things, and the results it has yielded - or hasn't - so far. The Punisher trailer really established the battle between them as one of ideological differences: when Matt hits people they get back up, when Castle hits them they stay down. Now, Matt's coming to the realisation that his way isn't working, and presumably considering starting to act more like The Punisher. It's an intriguing development to see the Man Without Fear pushed to this brink and actually considering killing, or at least handing over the keys to Hell's Kitchen to The Punisher, and shows just how much he is going to be tested this year.
